1 DayThis property located just southeast of Newcastle, Wyoming. It offers a picturesque landscape encompassing approximately 2,100 acres of prime turkey hunting country. The property features a creek that runs through the tree lines within multiple agricultural fields, providing a diverse habitat for game. In addition, the property is situated adjacent to expansive sections of BLM land, offering abundant hunting opportunities. Turkeys are regularly observed in large numbers. With its diverse habitat, the property provides ample cover and food sources for turkey populations to thrive. The natural beauty of the property, combined with its abundant wildlife, make it an ideal destination for hunting enthusiasts.
This property follows Salt Creek just below the outlet of LAK reservoir that runs through agriculture fields and large roost trees. This property is very good during early seasons when turkey are still in their large winter groups. Look for birds feeding near the feed lot and using the roost trees along the creek and bluffs. Birds will also frequent the agriculture fields throughout the day.

There were no turkeys around. I understand it's hunting and not killing and birds come and go, but we spoke to some of the ranch hands and they stated there have not been any birds on this property in a while. It sounds like the property to the south or the property near LAK may have turkeys this year, but nothing on Salt Creek. We covered the entire property as well as some of the BLM to the East and there was no birds and no sign of birds. The habitat looks amazing and seems like it could be an ideal piece of property, if managed for turkeys. Pure speculation, but it seems like at one point they had way too many turkeys on the property and they likely harassed them off as they were likely a nuisance. Also, note that the ranch is an active oil and gas operation. There are a substantial amount of vehicles around and a lot of traffic up and down the roads. Additionally, if the expectation that hunters should use the BLM to the East, then it would be beneficial to have access on the roads to the East and park over there.
