South Vona (Dove)

Each dove property is split up into 1,000 acre sections. The properties are primarily rotational farm ground with anything from milo, sunflower, wheat, winter wheat, corn, sorghum, millet, and CRP (unless otherwise noted). If the property contains water (stock tanks or natural ponds) it will be noted on the property page. It is possible for the ponds to dry up before the season starts, but typically will dry up mid to end September. The dove hunting is exceptional throughout this area of eastern Colorado every year. ​​This section of Eastern Colorado is primarily used for agriculture creating an ample food source for dove and other species alike. In this area, you will likely run into Mourning as well as Eurasian doves (these species have some overlapping seasons dates but make sure to check regulations before hunting). Dove are found in this area almost anywhere, whether feeding on the ground or moving from trees and water and food sources creating plenty of opportunities to fill your bag limit within these properties.
