1 DayWalnut Home Farm offers DIY upland bird hunting with no additional amenities provided. There are established populations of both quail and pheasants in this part of Kansas. The property consists of two separate parcels, each approximately 150 acres in size and located roughly a half mile apart. A residence is located on the eastern parcel and must be avoided during the hunt; this area is clearly marked and excluded within the boundaries shown in the Infinite Outdoors app.
This property produces quality upland bird habitat centered around the creek bottom of Weyer Creek, which provides a reliable water source, protective cover, and plenty of bugs for growing chicks - this property boasts both quail and pheasants. The creek bottom and adjacent transition areas create ideal loafing and escape cover, especially during rougher weather. Large, mature walnut and oak trees line the creek, breaking up the landscape and providing edge habitat that birds commonly use for movement, shade, and protection from predators. These wooded edges, combined with nearby open ground, create productive hunting zones where birds often hold tight. The west farm’s native grass strip (CRP) provides excellent nesting and bedding cover, while the two separate parcels are farmed in different row crops that supply consistent food sources throughout the season. This mix of grass, cropland, and edge habitat supports strong upland bird use and encourages birds to stay on the property.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking and are non-refundable. Outdoorsman fees will process 48 hours prior to the adventure - it is the organizer's responsibility to have each member of the hunt invited to the adventure prior to the 48 hour mark.
Cancellations made 48 hours or more prior to the scheduled adventure will not be charged. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the adventure will be charged the full outdoorsman fee.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released. All big game hunts may be pre-booked for future seasons; reach out to IO to inquire.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
