Notes from the landowner

Infinite Outdoors and landowners across the country, along with outdoor industry sponsors, are excited to increase access to your public lands through the Access Granted initiative. This program's goal is to bring the public free access to land that is rightfully owned by you. Through Access Granted, Infinite Outdoors and partners are proud to provide access to this 200 acre parcel just outside of Lamar, Colorado. Running A Ranch provides free, but limited, access throughout the year for specific activities - waterfowl and dove hunting. All outdoor recreationists are welcome in moderation - this landowner partner has agreed to allow up to 3 vehicles per day. All outdoorsmen who utilize this program must make reservations through the IO platform, at no added cost. Running A Ranch will be managed by the private landowner, Infinite Outdoors, and state agencies. Failure to reserve access prior to visiting will be considered trespassing. Furthermore, all guests must be Infinite Outdoors Access members, be added to the reservation, and provide all necessary information - failure to comply will result in fines imposed by the landowner or by state agencies.

Game and habitat information

Running A Ranch is a great location for both waterfowl and dove hunting. Located just west of Lamar, it provides remote access to a very good section of the Arkansas river. The stretch of river located on the property in particular had great diversity in hydrology relating to several areas that birds will target when migrating. Resident birds as well as migrating birds can be found on this river making opportunities for a variety of species to be harvested. In addition, this region of Colorado, from Rocky Ford to the Kansas border, are famous for the dove migration each year. Due to longer lasting warm temperatures here, mourning doves will continue to pass through this area until they've officially migrated south for the year. With ample roosting trees and sources of food and water nearby, hunters who hit this spot at the right time are in for a treat.
