Central - Northeast ZoneBY BOOKING THIS PROPERTY, YOU ARE AGREEING TO HAVE THE HUNT BE OPEN AS A COMMUNITY ADVENTURE. This property offers pristine waterfowl hunting on the St. Vrain River, northwest of Platteville, CO. All hunting ENDS at NOON. There is an Alps A-frame blind provided on the river at this property - It is always a good idea to arrive early to locate the blinds in the dark and set up for your hunt. This property is highly productive and gets good use throughout the season, so it may be helpful to arrive early to adequately cover your blind. Please remember that Vrain North shares access so there may be other hunters on the north side of the property. Please be respectful to those that are on those blinds. Parking is limited so please bring a maximum of 2 vehicles. SPEEDING OVER 15mph ON PRIVATE ROADS WILL RESULT IN FINES. Hunters must bring all essentials including licenses, tags, etc. Hunters must abide by all Colorado state rules and regulations.
Vrain South is an excellent location for waterfowl hunting, with plenty of trees and cover along the river for excellent hunting opportunities and plenty of birds. The St. Vrain River provides a variety of habitats, making it home to several waterfowl species. Ducks and occasional geese will utilize soft water, sandbars, and oxbows in secluded areas of the river to forage and loaf after feeding in the agriculture close by. The south end of the property provides larger, slower-moving water, whereas the north end provides more sandbars. As the season progresses and the standing bodies of water freeze, expect to see massive bird movements to this river. Several species of waterfowl utilize this river, so be sure to abide by all Colorado wildlife rules and regulations.
By booking this property, you are agreeing to having your adventure be open to the Infinite Outdoors community. What this means, is your reservation will be available for other IO members to join, within the set guest limit. As a party organizer, you will receive notifications when other members join your adventure.
1-Half Day Hunt
Provided blinds are placed at the beginning of the season. Hunters are encouraged to spend a few minutes brushing in the blinds to keep them in quality condition and keep them well hidden from birds.
Reservation fees are processed at the time of booking and are non-refundable. All outdoorsman fees will process automatically, 48 hours prior to the hunt.
Cancellations must be made 48 hours or more prior to the adventure. Cancellations made within 48 hours will be subject to partial or full outdoorsman fee charges.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
Hunting at this property must end by NOON. This allows for birds to comfortably return to a roost and will keep the hunting quality. Any hunting that continues past noon will result in a fine from the landowners.

Blinds definitely need to be brushed in more thoroughly, very open as it is. But plenty of ducks flying around in the area.

Good location, lots of birds. The X seemed to be to east and south of blind. Blinds could definitely use more cover.

You can only hunt until noon, which is kinda a bummer. First to find the blinds was a little challenge in the dark. Some orange marking tape would help! Vrain south has two blinds, one is brushed in well but about 30 yards from the bank of the river. The second closer is to the river but not hardly brushed. Also you’ll need to bring chairs

The property was extremely over grown. I know it's early but all the blinds are so over grown you can't see over the bushes witch made it hard. I had to rush to make one.

Easy to find the property, but wasn’t sure where the blind was considering it was dark out. Ended up finding 2 blinds later in the light.

The “blind” was not much of a blind, could use some work. See if people will volunteer time to build blinds in better locations and more concealed blinds. Maybe give them discounts if they help?
