The Star Place is a DIY elk hunting property located west of Wheatland, WY in elk unit 7. This property is made up of over 2,000 acres of private land and opens access to over 10,000 acres of BLM and Access Yes land. It comprises multiple different terrains, with elevations ranging from 6,800 to 7,200 feet. Hunters will find both open country and some timber cover on this property. Hunters must abide by all Wyoming Game & Fish hunting regulations while on this property. All hunters in a party are required to be active members of Infinite Outdoors and must be listed on the hunting party's adventure.

Game and habitat information

The Star Place is located in the heart of Wyoming’s Unit 7. This region is renowned for its habitat and healthy game populations. Elk will gather in this property’s forested and mountain shrub areas. Elk target these locations due to the abundance of broad leaf plant "forbs.” It is also helpful to look for recently disturbed areas such as burns, beetle kill trees, flooding, etc. while hunting. After disturbances, plant growth is improved, which often brings elk to these areas. During rifle season, hunting pressure on public land sections nearby will push more elk onto this property. While hunters must be strategic in their approach here, the Star Place is a must for your next Elk hunting adventure.

Payment Process

Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt. All OTC hunts will require a 50% deposit of the outdoorsman fee at the time of booking as well. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needing made after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.

Availability

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.

Trespassing

You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.

Lodging can be found in Wheatland, Wyoming, located just 25 miles to the east. Despite being a small town, Wheatland offers a variety of hotels and Airbnb properties to accommodate travelers and outdoor enthusiasts. Your downloaded map and current adventure in the IO app will be your proof of permission. Be prepared to present it upon request.

Please read the Terms of Service before fully booking your adventure. Otherwise, Refunds are only permitted at the discretion of Infinite Outdoors. This is only in conjunction with particular situations including, but not limited to, modifications to reservation (usually by a reduction in reserved days) or full cancellation of any Infinite Outdoors adventure, either hunting or fishing. No refunds will be permitted, in ANY case, if the individual(s) broke any of Infinite Outdoors Rules or Policies as set out by the Infinite Outdoors team, and each individual Landowner.

Non hunters require prior approval. Once approved they must still be IO members but may be subject to reduced price or free outdoorsman fee. If this applies to you, please reach out to IO.
