6130 ft.Elk Ranch Lodge is a beautiful property, consisting of 400 acres of diverse country. It has agricultural fields that draw all game to the unpressured private land, bedding areas, and easy access to water. OTC tag availability provides easy tag acquisition for elk. Elk Ranch Lodge even has a private Elk farm that attracts wild elk to the area above and beyond what would normally inhabit it. However, this is NOT a high fenced hunt. By booking this property, you also have access to landlocked BLM land. Meaning it is surrounded by private property and is inaccessible by the public. This is a wonderful property for a late season elk hunt as it is in a high traffic migration route; 3rd and 4th rifle seasons are recommended. The outdoorsman fee is for a 5-day hunt, which includes on-site lodging. This is a DIY elk hunt; however guided elk hunting options are available through a separate company. Reach out to an IO team member if you are interested in those options. IO payment process is as follows: A reservation fee that is non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the Colorado limited license draw results are posted. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to your hunt.
Right in the heart of the most populated mountain range in the world world for Rocky Mountain Elk, lies the Elk Ranch Lodge. The Elk are here for a reason, this region in Colorado is renown for the abundance and diversity of productive habitat. Elk in particular utilize the understory in both forested and mountain shrub habitats. Elk will target these areas due to the abundance of broad leaf plants "forbs" for short. Ponderosa Pine forests and large Aspen groves on the ranch are excellent places to target Elk due to the abundance of understory vegetation and screening cover that they offer. Another tactic is to look for recently disturbed areas such as burns, beetle kill, flooding, etc. After disturbance, the plant species that grow after an event like this is exactly what elk target, Broad leaf plants "forbs". Elk in this scenario will utilize mature forested areas for cover and move into these disturbed areas for food in early morning and evenings for a feast. This property in particular has an abundance of ag field making it an all year round honey hole. Pressure from the public land will also push more elk to utilize this property. Hunters must be strategic in their approach, use the land to your advantage, lots of glassing, watch the wind, and position yourself with patience to capitalize on the right opportunity. That being said, Elk Ranch Lodge is a must for your next Elk hunting adventure.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
5 day hunt. By booking the first day of your adventure, you are automatically booking the following 4 as well. The reservation will be for the entire timeframe, and your entire group.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released. All big game hunts may be pre-booked for future seasons; reach out to IO to inquire.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
