Yes - CabinDa Cabin is located just south of Hartsel, Colorado. This property implements a minimum of 3 people - it may be rented by less but please be prepared to pay for the remaining spots that are not filled. Just like the name implies, this property boasts a 2 bedroom/2 bath cabin with 5 beds, and with easy and direct access to San Isabel National Forest. The cabin will be available for reservation no matter what species of game you've drawn a tag for, as elk, mule deer and black bear all make a home out of the terrain in this area. Hunters who book a stay at Da Cabin can literally walk out the back door and get straight to hunting. Although it only sits on 11 acres of private land, the direct access to national forest is coveted in this area due to the fact that the nearest public access point to San Isabel is 5 miles south. Because the cabin build was completed in 2018 and is not regularly used, it is in extremely good shape and seemingly brand new. Though totally off grid, the cabin allows hunters a comfortable spot to rest after a long day of hunting. Amenities include solar panels to charge batteries for any need of electricity, propane heating, a backup generator, and even running water. However, it is requested of hunters to be mindful and conserve both energy and water during their stay. Think of this as a 5-star camping location. In addition to all amenities and access to extremely quality hunting ground, if desired, this landowner will serve as a camp jack, cooking breakfast and dinner and even helping with downed game. Please inquire within the IO platform for that connection!
This region of Colorado is known for its healthy population of several species, including elk, mule deer and black bear. The specific section of national forest that Da Cabin offers access to, is even more so known for the large numbers of elk that call it home. A resident herd of elk can be found here throughout the year - but because this area is part of a migration route, big storms and later seasons can bring in BIG groups of elk as they push through to wintering grounds. Minimal hunting pressure in the area also adds to the quality of hunting here. Due to public access being roughly a 5-mile hike, the section of national forest directly behind Da Cabin rarely sees other hunters. This property is found in GMU 58, which generally requires 2-3 preference points to draw tags for deer and elk. Tags here are also valid for GMU 57, which is less than a mile from the cabin's back door.
After booking this property, the landowner will reach out to you to provide current trail cam photos for any species you are interested in hunting. They will continue to provide photos throughout the months leading up to your stay!
By booking this property, you will have access for the duration of the season you are booking.
Reservation fees are due at the time of booking, and are non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will process 2 weeks after the draw results in this state are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to IO and the situation will be handled accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
Cancellations made prior to placing a deposit will be taken care of immediately. Any cancellations needing made after placing a deposit will result in attempts to reschedule the hunt for a different season, or a different year. Please note that refunds are not guaranteed.
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
