5 DaysTruly one of the best examples of high dessert southern Wyoming hunting areas. A short dive NW of Rawlins Wyoming is the Shamrock hills. This "Checkerboard" of public and private land is known for its large herds of Elk, Deer, and Pronghorn as well as rich deposits of coal, oil, and natural gas. The Checkerboard land ownership pattern was created by the transcontinental railroad in the 1800's. This effectively serves to landlock some parcels with private land. While this is controversial for some hunters, access to this private ranch allows for unhindered access to well over 25,000 acres of public and private land.
While at first glance the landscape can seem barren and dry, there are plenty of springs and oasis in the dessert to support trophy specimens. This area serves as a vital route and wintering area for herds of Elk and Deer found south in the Sierra Madre mountain range. The region NW of Rawlins has healthy elk populations, thanks in part to the diverse habitats that support these animals. The herds migrate between higher elevations in the summer and lower elevations during the fall and winter, making the location perfect for fall Elk. Deep draws that hide water sources and large stands of Juniper give herds ample cover.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
If you are successful in harvesting an animal on this property, as a request of the landowners you must send in the Landowner Coupon that is attached to your big game license. Any hunter who successfully fills their tag but fails to return the landowner coupon will receive a $25 fine. This will be issued to the landowner in lieu of the money they would have received from the state through the landowner coupon program. The Harvest Report (noted above) is how you will notify Infinite Outdoors of your hunt results. Unsuccessful hunters are not required to return a coupon. The additional income driven through landowner coupons is a great way to continue incentivizing landowners to allow access to their land - we ask for your help in this endeavor, to keep quality access available at the touch of a button. Upon successful harvest, please send your landowner coupon to: Box 1984, Rawlins, WY 82301.

All OTC hunts will require a 50% deposit of the outdoorsman fee at the time of booking as well. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.
