2500South Fork Pheasants is a DIY upland bird property that is located just north of Vona, CO. It consists of about 2,500 acres of CRP cover and borders multiple different crop fields. This land provides birds with extremely sufficient cover for roosting and is large enough that it can hold multiple pockets of birds. Only 1 party will be permitted on this property at a time. Please refrain from driving into the field, park on the outskirts and walk in only.
This area of eastern Colorado holds a healthy amount of wild pheasants. Over the years lots of eastern Colorado has seen a fluctuation in the pheasant population but now holds at a healthy number making this a great area to hunt birds. Due to the habitat of much of this area, birds are able to find cover in trees, thickly foliated ravines, and CRP fields. There is also great food and water supply through the significant agriculture in the area creating great properties to find pheasants.
Drivers should stay under 15 MPH on private roads. Violators will be subject to fines starting at $100
All hunters must possess a small game hunting license: https://cpw.state.co.us/thingstodo/Pages/SmallGame.aspx
If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged from contacting Infinite Outdoors. Some landowners have not opened their land for reservations yet. The other reason properties might be unavailable is because we work directly with our landowners and hunts are booked by quota set by our biologist for the current year. That being said, we are willing, and able in most cases, to pre-book you for next season. OR book you in place of someone else canceling their reservation.
You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.

We saw one pheasant over the course of a full day of walking a lot. We had 3 hunters and 2 dogs. We covered all of the land that had sufficient cover. The cover that was there, was fairly adequate. However there was only cover on roughly 1/4 of the land. The rest of the property was dry and not hunt-able. I would have expected many more birds, considering it was opening day on private property. I have hunted pheasant my whole life. I have had more success on Colorado public land than we had here. Unfortunately, I don't think there are many birds on this property. There were no signs of pheasant, other than the one we flushed. I would not recommend other hunters to this property for pheasant.
