11Dunn Creek is a premium property in the hunting mecca of Kansas. Located in the urban wilderness of Kansas City, KS, this property is in DMU 10. Because it is located in the urban corridor, it is also in DMU 19, this distinction allows permit holders for unit 9, 10, 11, and 14 to hunt the property also. Dunn Creek consists of approximately 150 acres of heavy timber. This property is no stranger to massive, mature bucks, explaining why it is a premium property. This property features a creek bed that runs east to west through the property and serves as a natural travel corridor. Dunn Creek is a DIY ARCHERY ONLY property. All attending parties must bring everything that they need to raise their chances of success. In addition, all attending parties must be active members of Infinite Outdoors.
This property near Kansas City boasts an ideal environment for large whitetail deer, with its diverse range of biological habitats, including a riverbed, hardwood forests, and agricultural fields. Kansas City offers Kansas sized whitetails while maintaining one of the highest deer densities in the state. While whitetail deer are abundant in the area, especially during the rut, attracted to the various food sources provided by the agricultural fields, as well as the shelter and cover provided by the hardwood forests. The deer travel along the creek beds and timber draws, where stands are selectively placed. The hardwood forests offer excellent cover for deer, making it an ideal location for hunters to set up in tree stands and wait for deer to pass by. The dense tree lines also provide a rich source of food for deer, with a mix of deciduous species such as oaks, maples, and hickories, which produce acorns, nuts, and other food sources throughout the year. In addition, the agricultural fields provide an abundance of food for deer, as crops such as corn, soybeans, and wheat are highly attractive to the animals. However, this also means that hunters must be strategic in their approach, as the deer can be highly unpredictable and may not follow predictable patterns. Pinch-points and travel corridors can be very effective during the rut when daylight buck numbers increase and can be great for the early December rifle season.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
