559This property consists of approximately 475 acres in the plains of Kansas. Although it is in the great plains, this property is set up perfectly for great days of bird hunting. Raftery Badger features multiple water sources on and around the property, and a tree row on the south east side of the west section of this property. Agriculture fields surround all sides of these sections of land which make it desirable for doves, quail and pheasant. Hunters must follow all Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, rules and regulations. This is a DIY opportunity, all hunters should bring all things necessary for success. All attending parties must be members of Infinite Outdoors to legally access this property.
Kansas is often ranked among the top three states for quail harvest and this property has a thriving population and ideal habitat for quail. Quail thrive in areas that provide a mix of grasslands, brushy cover, and agricultural fields. Quail favor native warm-season grasses like bluestem and switchgrass, mixed with forbs. These provide nesting sites and food sources.
The Farms brushy areas and edgerows provide areas with dense cover, such as sand plum thickets, sumac, or hedge rows, and offer quail protection from predators and harsh weather.
Quail often prefer the transitional zones where different types of land meet, such as where grasslands meet woodlands or croplands. These edge habitats provide cover, feeding areas, and ease of movement.
