Bixby Layout Field is a DIY waterfowl property located near Glenrock, WY. This is a layout blind only field, meaning there is no provided pit and hunters will see the greatest success bringing their own blinds. For the 2022/2023 season this field is planted winter barley. It is located in a great flyway for waterfowl and is extremely close to the North Platte River that is consistently used as a roosting spot for large numbers of birds. Driving through the field is prohibited, but hunters are permitted to drive around the edge to get close to the desired hunting location. There are cattle in the area, as well as pipeline operations, so please use caution while shooting. All hunters must abide by all state of Wyoming regulations, including licensing and limits. SPEEDING OVER 15mph ON PRIVATE ROADS WILL RESULT IN FINES.

Game and habitat information

This property catches most of a half circle of an agriculture field, located next to the North Platte and lots of unpressured private land. This property offers everything needed for a good waterfowl hunt.

Availability

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.

Layout Blind Hunting

Hunts canceled 48 hours or more prior to the adventure will not be changed. Hunts canceled within 48 hours will be charged 50%, and hunts canceled within 24 hours of the adventure will be charged the full outdoorsman fee.
Yes, they must be a current IO member. Monthly memberships are available at a lower cost. An outdoorsman fee will not be charged, but any “non-hunter” found hunting will be fined.

The property boundaries made it impossible to set up in the “right” spot. The birds were basically programmed to be out of range by 100-350 yds or more. Lots of birds, None within safe range for shots.
