Buckeye Mountain Ranch - 5-Day Elk hunt

Buckeye Mountain Ranch is a beautiful property consisting of over 2,000 acres of dark timber, scattered open parks, water sources, and quakie patches, creating the ideal habitat for Colorado elk. This property resides in GMU 29, which is a draw unit for elk. Archery and first rifle elk hunts will be sold as 5-day hunts. The landowners report less elk inhabiting the area during 2nd and 3rd rifle seasons depending on early season snow amounts. Later rifle season hunts will be sold in 4-day chunks. This property does provide lodging in a small and simple cabin, that is able to cater to groups of 2, no more than 3. The outdoorsman price does not include lodging, so if you choose to use that option you will have to reach out to an IO staff member. This is a DIY elk hunting property, though guided elk hunts are available at request. The reservation fee is non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will be processed 2 weeks after draw results are posted, so if you book the property but do not draw, reach out to Infinite Outdoors before that 2-week mark. The rest of the outdoorsman fee will be processed 1 month prior to your hunt. This is a remarkable property that has received minimal pressure in the past, so be sure to book soon! This property sits just south of Rocky Mountain National Park with terrain consisting of dark timber, aspen quakie patches, open parks and good water sources. Due to the elevation and position in the migration path, elk tend to favor this area during archery and early rifle season depending on snow levels in the fall and early winter. Elk tend to use the property for breeding, wallowing and feeding while grasses are still available during the summer, fall and early winter. There is a small pond located on the property that can be a very productive area to find elk during early the early part of archery season. This is a great area to call in elk and find small and large groups of cows with bulls often being harvested in the 300" class.
