1000Ragsdale Ranch is a beautiful, nearly 1,000 acre, mountain property located in Colorado's GMU 461. The terrain is mountainous and provides mostly dark timber; however, there are multiple meadows and open spaces scattered throughout the property. The land holds water sources and wallows, giving elk in the area reason to stick around. This property is surrounded by both private and publicly inaccessible state land, so game in this part of 461 have ample room to live unpressured. Hunts on this property will be sold in 5-day increments, with your initial day serving as the first of your 5 days hunting. This is a DIY elk hunt, yet guided elk hunt options may be available. Contact Infinite Outdoors to discuss these options. Camping and early scouting access may be available at the landowner's discretion. This area is also home to many bears, so an add-on bear tag is not a bad idea! The IO payment process is as follows: A reservation fee that is non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will be processed 2 weeks after the Colorado limited license draw results are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to an IO team member and they will proceed accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to your arrival on the property.
This property sits just outside of Pine, Colorado, along the South Platte river, with terrain consisting of ponderosa pines, open spaces, and good water sources. Elk tend to use the property for breeding, wallowing, and feeding while grasses are available, often lasting up until early winter. There is a small pond located on the property that can be a productive area to find elk during the early part of archery season. This pond is also a great area to call in elk and find small and large groups of cows and bulls. Many of the bulls here have scored in the 250"-300"+ range.
