Cottonwood Park is a DIY elk hunting property located just 3 miles east of Laramie Peak in Wyoming's beloved area 7. Consisting of just over 1500 acres of private land, Cottonwood Park also offers easy access to Medicine Bow National Forest. Access to Cottonwood Park is very convenient, and done by using a main country road that traverses the whole property from north to south. Infinite Outdoors urges hunters to be aware of their surroundings, and the locations of several places of residence that share a border with this private property. Safety is of utmost importance while hunting here - any negligent shooting will result in a fine issued by the landowners. Hunters are also urged to be aware of all Wyoming regulations set for elk hunting such as - no shooting from a country road or from within a vehicle. As this is a DIY elk hunt, hunters are expected to provide their own equipment, licensing, and pack out services. Please let Infinite Outdoors know if there are any questions! Hunters: please be prepared to return the landowner coupon on your license to this landowner. Check the rules and regs section upon booking to learn where to send the coupon.
Cottonwood Park is a lower elevation property located directly between two larger and popular peaks. To the west is Laramie Peak, an area known for quality elk hunting with high trophy potential. To the east is Albany Peak which, while not as high as Laramie Peak, still sits in an area with high trophy potential and large numbers of elk. Cottonwood Park, being much lower in elevation and a relatively flatter terrain, will be used by elk in the area for grazing and watering before venturing back up into the hills. Aptly named, this property showcases a large stretch of Cottonwood Creek that flows from north to south, providing all game with more than enough water. Of course, with the water source also comes rich vegetation that elk and other animals will graze on throughout the year. With steep elevation on either side of the property, elk will use drainages to move up and down as they provide the path of least resistance.
After your hunt, you will be sent an automated Harvest Report. To assist Infinite Outdoors in maintaining the quality of properties - and continue to put conservation at the forefront - we require that the harvest report be completely filled out and returned. Failure to fill out the harvest report within 2 weeks of the hunt taking place will result in a $25 fine. If you are unsuccessful in filling your tag, Infinite Outdoors still needs to have that information provided to them. This is how we will make changes to future year's harvest quotas and continue to be the most well managed access and conservation platform in the country.
If you are successful in harvesting an animal on this property, as a request of the landowners you must send in the Landowner Coupon that is attached to your big game license. Any hunter who successfully fills their tag but fails to return the landowner coupon will receive a $25 fine. This will be issued to the landowner in lieu of the money they would have received from the state through the landowner coupon program. The Harvest Report (noted above) is how you will notify Infinite Outdoors of your hunt results. Unsuccessful hunters are not required to return a coupon. The additional income driven through landowner coupons is a great way to continue incentivizing landowners to allow access to their land - we ask for your help in this endeavor, to keep quality access available at the touch of a button. Upon successful harvest, please send your landowner coupon to: PO Drawer 2360, Casper WY 82602.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released.
