4,400 ftHell Creek is an 8,000 acre property located across a multitude of separated plots of land. Sitting north of Vona, these lands are ideal for all whitetail and mule deer. Sitting in Colorado's GMU 109, this property is scattered in different plots of lands across a large percentage of the unit. This property does not allow exclusive hunting access, and it is probable to see other hunters during your time here. Think of it as restricted public hunting, on private land. Only 6 hunters will be able to hunt the property. The land is mostly made up of CRP grasses and pastureland, however, there is also some dried creek bottom, with the added bonus of a large amount of agricultural land. This is a spot and stalk property, meaning hunters must park on the county roads and walk in. Though the terrain may look completely flat on the map, there are many ways to keep yourselves hidden from game using small hills or rises in the land. Lodging is not included in this hunt, however some nearby towns such as Stratton or Burlington may have hotel availability. This is a draw unit for both species of deer, though if you are unable to draw a tag, Infinite Outdoors may be able to put you in touch with a landowner for a voucher. Hunts on this property are DIY, though guided deer hunt options are available through a separate company. Contact IO if you wish to discuss those options. IO payment process is as follows: A reservation fee that is non-refundable. 50% of the outdoorsman fee will be processed 2 weeks after the Colorado limited license draw results are posted. If you are unsuccessful in the draw, reach out to and Infinite team member before that 2-week mark and they will proceed with you accordingly. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to your arrival on the property.
The eastern parts of Colorado provide an amazing location for both whitetail and mule deer. This particular location is heavily trafficked by both of them. With the properties lower elevation, local agricultural lands, and water sources along sage covered grasslands. The Eastern Plains provide a fantastic habitat for deer in the area, and will be seen on and around the property all year round. Throughout the different land types across the property, this location has everything grazing animals, like deer, strive for. Common crops found around the area are corn and winter wheat which provide much needed nutrition during the fall and winter months. CRP is also found in the area in abundance. Deer of both species are usually most active around the early mornings and evenings, during feeding hours. Rut activity increases in the later months of the fall which will also lead to a higher likelihood of spotting them during the day. Tall grasses and subtle cracks or fingers make for great bedding areas.
