Box Elder Creek - Turkey

This is a DIY turkey hunting property located south of Glenrock, WY and north of I-25 on the Boxelder Creek. This property resides in area 2 for turkey hunting and consists of just over 580 acres of creek bottom and agriculture fields. With plenty of roosting areas and nearby food, this is an ideal location for chasing those springtime gobbles. This area of the state is known for the large number of Turkeys that are seen in abundance during the spring. No blinds are provided, but hunters can feel encouraged to bring their own ground blinds or get in early enough to build a quality brush blind. Hunters will be required to abide by all state of Wyoming regulations, including licensing, limits and method of take. This is a DIY hunting opportunity and should be planned accordingly. Please do not park off of the road, and only use the already established road for driving. Everything else will be foot traffic only.

This large property follows Box Elder creek and the surrounding agriculture fields to provide excellent habitat for Merriam turkeys. Populations are typically very high early in the year and birds tend to split into smaller groups as the season progresses. Due to the large amount of cover, roost trees, and food the birds can move around the property freely and can be found throughout. Large cottonwoods and hay meadows are great for roosting and feeding activities throughout the day.
