Shults Ranch Cow Camp - Archery Bull Elk (4 Hunter Minimum)

Cow Camp is a DIY archery elk property located just southwest of Meeker, Colorado, in GMU 22 which is OTC for archery season. Please note that there is a hunter minimum for this property, of 4 hunters. You may have more in your group if desired, but 4 is the minimum. Consisting of over 1200 acres of private land, Cow Camp also offers hunters access to BLM ground that is otherwise inaccessible by other vehicles. A main gate at this property closes off a road that only these landowners and one neighboring to the east have access through. What this means is OTC public land that is unpressured, coupled with 1200 acres of private land all to yourself. On this property hunters will find a diverse range of terrain, all of which are conducive to thriving elk populations. Cow Camp not only has phenomenal terrain to hunt on, but also provides a clean, remote cabin for hunters to stay in directly on the property. Walk out your front door and start hunting. The cabin provides 6 beds, a wood stove, and a solar powered well for water. Hunters will need to bring their own bedrolls, food, and additional water is recommended. Since this is a DIY hunt, all hunters will need to bring their own equipment, and all must abide by Colorado state regulations. This includes licensing, and method of take. Hunters should take note of the add-on bear tags available in this unit as well, as bear populations in the area are also high! Color phased black bears are regularly seen, and this opportunity should be taken advantage of!

Cow Camp is located in GMU 22, in what is known as the high desert terrain. Here you will find the typical pinion pines, sage, and oak brush that define the high desert. What is unique about this property though, is that directly across a small valley, hunters will also find thick dark timber that elk are known for utilizing. Several sources of water are available as well, in the form of a small stream and a reservoir on top of the property. The reservoir is used by many elk for drinking, and even wallowing.

7-Day hunt with the option of up to 10 days

Because this is an OTC hunt, 50% deposits will be due at the time of booking. The remaining 50% will process 1 month prior to the hunt.

All deposits are non-refundable because this is an OTC hunt. If a hunt must be cancelled, we will work to reschedule you for the following year.

If there is a lapse in availability, please do not be discouraged to reach out to IO. All calendars are set and managed by landowners, and unavailability is set by them. However, IO is willing to reach out on your behalf, to check on available dates. Other reasons for unavailable dates include biologist recommended hunter/harvest quotas that landowners implement, as well as state season dates not being released. All big game hunts may be pre-booked for future seasons; reach out to IO to inquire.

You are not legally allowed to access the property, for any adventure, prior to your selected access day. If you try to access the property at all before your selected date(s), without prior approval from IO, you will be subject to trespassing and punishments therein.
