Merriam TurkeyRabbit Gulch Gobblers is a DIY turkey hunting property located south of HWY 34, east of Loveland Heights, CO. The property is 120 acres large and borders Roosevelt National Forest on both the north and south boundaries. It falls within GMU 20, which is an OTC unit for turkey licenses in Colorado. Rabit Gulch Gobblers is the ideal location for turkey populations to thrive, for several reasons. Besides the habitat, extremely low hunting pressure on this property creates a safe feeling environment for birds in the area, giving them good reason to use the property each year. Hunters who access this property should note that there are no provided blinds available for use. As a DIY property, hunters will need to bring their own ground blinds if they choose to use one or should anticipate building something out of brush upon arrival. There is a county road that traverses through the center of the property. Any use of vehicles must be done on existing roads or tracks, as no off-road use will be permitted. 4WD vehicles are strongly recommended for accessing this property; if there is any moisture on the ground, roads will become muddy and undrivable without 4WD.
Rabbit Gulch Gobblers offers remarkable turkey habitat. On this property, hunters will be chasing Merriam Turkeys, as well as the occasional hybrid. The property consists of timber-lined ridges, ideal for roosting spots, several open areas that will be utilized for strutting zones, and it even offers a local water source. Turkeys in this area will roam far and wide, and seldomly will they use the same roost tree more than a handful of times. However, birds display a 'home range' that they will frequent throughout the day.

Beautiful property was a bit sceptic going in. Was worried about the neighbors possibly messing up the hunt because of comments in the description but it was no problem. The landscape is wonderful and you can camo in the state park just a couple miles away.
